The short answer

Yes. Since 14 October 2026 every Wagamama restaurant takes bookings, on the day or well in advance, for tables of any size, including a table for two. Book on Wagamama's website, on OpenTable or in the Soul Club app. Groups of 20 or more phone the restaurant.

How to book a table at Wagamama

  1. Open the booking page. Go to Wagamama's booking page and type in the restaurant you want. You can also book through OpenTable or the Soul Club app.
  2. Say when and how many. Pick the date, the time and the number of people.
  3. Choose a slot. The page shows what's free, and you take your pick.

Wagamama's page doesn't mention a deposit or a cancellation policy, so check your confirmation for both. Got 20 or more coming? Online booking stops at 20, so give the restaurant a ring.

Is Wagamama walk in only? Not any more

No. Wagamama opened in London in 1992 with no bookings and stayed walk-in only for 34 years, until it ended that policy in October 2026. Its chief marketing officer called the switch “a significant moment” for the chain.

Does Wagamama still take walk-ins? Yes, you can still turn up. Booking has been added, and Wagamama hasn't said it's turning walk-ins away.

Can you book a table for two at Wagamama?

Yes, you can book a table for two at Wagamama. It takes bookings for tables of any size at all its restaurants, and its booking page lets you search from one guest up to 20.

Slots are set restaurant by restaurant, so the times you see are your restaurant's. Wagamama's FAQ page still says some restaurants only take bookings for four or more, so if yours won't let you pick two, call them.

How long do you keep the table?

A booking holds your table for 90 minutes. Need longer? Ask on the day and Wagamama says it will do its best.

A bigger group is sat as close together as the room allows. If you're split across tables, you're put near enough to still feel like one long table, which suits a restaurant built on benches.

Do offers and rewards work when you book?

Yes. You can earn and use Soul Club rewards on a group booking, and Blue Light Card offers still stand.

Booking is also how you get the set menu, two or three courses at a set price that works out cheaper than ordering separately.

The festive set menu is bookable too: £23 for two courses or £28 for three, served 18 November to 5 January, with the cranberry katsu back. It's England, Wales and Northern Ireland only, and it doesn't combine with Blue Light or Soul Club rewards. The free prosecco was only for bookings made by 15 October, so that has closed. Full details are in our Wagamama Christmas menu section.

Can you bring a birthday cake to Wagamama?

You can bring a birthday cake to Wagamama, but only if it's pre-packaged and nut-free. Wagamama allows only pre-packaged food for celebrations, and that includes no nuts, so a homemade cake isn't allowed.

Tell the restaurant it's a birthday when you book and they'll make it special in their own way.

Do you need to book Wagamama?

No, you don't have to, because you can still walk in. But book a table at Wagamama if you're a group, it's a birthday, it's a Friday or Saturday night or you're going in the festive weeks, because those are the visits where waiting for a seat or being split up spoils the meal.

A couple on a weekday lunch can happily turn up. Going for the weekday lunch deal? You can book that too, so check your restaurant's slots.

Eating with children, or someone with an allergy? Have a look at the kids menu or the allergy menu before you go, and see the Wagamama menu with prices to know what the bill looks like.
